Help with SNES devcart, programmer Flash or eprom?

Post by pcman »

I'm trying to build a SNES devcart that is compatible with many games. :D I want to create a HiRom and LoRom devcart with 8KB
S-RAM, highest possible storage i.e (2MB or greater ) so it can have compatiblity. I've been doing research on the topic, but I can't decide whether to use 27c801 EPROM or Am29F040B FLASH memory. I found a few projects on a snes cart dumper http://www.caitsith2.com/snes/snes_cart_dumper.htm, snes dev cart http://cgfm2.emuviews.com/snes/sfcdev2.php and http://nintendoallstars.w.interia.pl/romlab/sneslab.htm, and 27c801 eprom programmer http://www.mikeg2.freeserve.co.uk/eprom/, but I am a little confused on how to use all of them and if they all work together. I also need help on where to get a good cheap universal eprom/flash programmer or a how to on building one.

Your avatar doesn't work. Use somewhere else like imageshack.us.

You do, of course, realize that if you go for the EPROM, you will have to rease the chip with a UV lamp every time you want to load a new ROM image? The process, I think, takes several hours.

I looked into that and it is a bit out of my price zone. Also, http://www.tototek.com server is down. Even if I had the money, I can't access there website.

a selfbuilt cartridge will be more expensive than $70 in the long run if it has the same features as the super flash.

So how do I get a Tototek SuperFlash cart and programmer if the server is down? If someone could help me with this I would appreciate it. Also, is the SuperFlash compatible with HiRom and LoRom games? Does it support DSP1, Super FX, etc. ?

Tomy, the guy who runs Tototek, has said that he's currently moving to a different hosting company, so the site is down for a little while.

im 99% sure the url will be the same. switching servers certainly does not mean you have to switch domain names.
