Before or After
For those of you who are rugged and manly like me. You know, the ones who can actually grow beards and shave everyday or else they end up looking like this dude
if they don't shave for 5 days. When do you shave. Before or after your showers.

Re: Before or After
After I shower, of course. What's the point in doing it before?

Every other day, before I shower if I can. I like to shave before because usually the shower softens the freshly-shaved skin. I like the end result better for shave then shower more than shower then shave.
Every other day is perfect. Every day destroys my face, more than one unshaven day feels disgusting.

I like to shave after because usually the shower softens the hairs to be shaved. Means shaving is easier and I don't have to wait as long after putting on shaving cream.bitcopy wrote:I like to shave before because usually the shower softens the freshly-shaved skin.

It usually doesn't matter, but if you wet your face before shaving, it should make things a little easier for those who do it before taking a shower.
PS: I don't use shaving cream, just straight water and a razor.
EDIT: See three-four posts below this.

I agree with bitcopy's argument, and also, the very fact that it softens the hair makes it more difficult with an electric shaver, because it picks up on sturdy hairs betteryes, I'm a wussy for using oneThe Giver wrote:I like to shave after because usually the shower softens the hairs to be shaved. I shave every day, and with an electric razor before I shower. I never could shave after because my face would be too clean and the razor would glide very good, it is really hard that way. I still shaved before I showered even when I used to use a regular razor, I figured why get crap all over your clean face?

Ah. I use a Shick Tracer FX, and a boar bristle brush with this totally awesome super-lathering castile soap.

I'm french, so it's widely known we don't shower and wait for our beards to rot naturally.
"After", but I shower more often than I shave - it grows so fast it's useless anyway.

Before I got lazy and started use electric, I would always shave after showering. Doesn't really make sense to do it before, the skin is too tight and the hairs contracted.
