SMB3x 2.5 (IPS) - Not Starting With ZSNES 1.51

Post by Eris »

A shy hello and greetings from Switzerland to everyone in this forum. :)

I just wonder how I can get SMB3x 2.5 running on my ZSNES program. I have Windows 8 (not 8.1) 64-Bit and so far I was able to run SMC files without an issue, butt this is an IPS file, and it just won't load up. Do I need a basic SMC file and the IPS is just an extension to it? If yes, where do I get the basic file?

Thankies for your help in advance!

An IPS file is a patch file meant to be applied to the original ROM image. Use an IPs patching tool like NINJA to get the job done.

Alternatively, use can use ZSNES' soft patching feature. Just rename the IPS file the same as the ROM image and place both in the same folder (wherever you keep you ROM images). Load the game in ZSNES an the emulator should patch the game on the fly.

sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.
