ipher's wip site
Tried the search but didn't see anything relevant. Hope this isn't a duplicate topic...
Is ipherswipsite.com gone? The page it's on now says it's expired. whois on internic.net said it expired yesterday.
I was just looking for the latest wip. I'll go get the latest from zsnes.com for now.

If you tell us what IP address you get, we can edit our hosts file to redirect to the proper location.Truth Unknown wrote:The site is fine, its just the "zsnes" sub-domain has a DNS problem or was hi-jacked, so it displays another page.

The IP I get at zsnes.ipherswipsite.com is 8.15.231.4 , also it seems to be affecting snes9x.ipherswipsite.com to with the same IP.
Quick-Edit: Same for other.ipherswipsite.com
Isn't this a excessive amount of sub-domains?
Quick-Edit 2: www sub-domain is also doing the same, without www is fine.
Q-Edit 3: Some of the images are not loading on fakenes.
Is my Interwebs dieing?

Did you edit your hosts file or use the IP? You can't type in the IP because it's a virtual host (many websites, one IP). The hostname is sent with the HTTP request so apache (or whatever) can resolve the proper website.franpa wrote:yes, points me to the webhosts place holder page.
edit: 65.254.250.107 this doesnt work, takes me to a blank page :\
If you take Nach's suggestion, your computer will get the proper IP, and then your web browser can make the proper request with the right IP and the hostname.
I wasn't sure how to open a file as administrator in vista so I haven't tried it, but I'm sure it would work.

You'll need to either enable the "Administrator" Login in Vista then edit it while logged-in in with it.
Or have it enabled with a password and Run " C:\Windows\System32\runas.exe /User:Administrator cmd " and edit the file.
Or you save it to the desktop and then paste it into that folder followed with elevation. (This may Bork Permissions)
