Can I disable the ROM info text please?
Hi, is there a way to disable the white 'ROM info' text which pops up for a few seconds when the ROM first boots up?
Cheers, Pete.
Cheers, Pete.

Useless info, except that zsnesw.exe is the name of the Windows executable.RedMistPete wrote:Ah - just realised, I'm not running "Zsnes" - I've got "ZsnesW";
If you didn't download ZSNES from the ZSNES website, then that is your problem there.maybe that'll explain the lack of docs
I have no idea what you are talking about.(I got it as a front-end plugin).
You put in enough effort to warrent the answer you got. If you couldn't find it in Config->Options, then go figure to your cluelessness. Thanks for the sarcastic post and for not helping me. Great forum

1- Yep - I downloaded the latest version and read the docs. The 'disable ROM info' feature is only available on this version - that's why, despite having looked hard enough, I couldn't find it.
2- A front end, FYI, is a replacement GUI with bells and whistles.
3- I got the answer I deserved? Your not very helpful.
4- Clueless - isn't that the idea of a dedicated forum?

It would have done you some good to get the latest version first before having asked said question. I probably could have mentioned the version that this was added in, but technically using the latest version is implied (especially since you did not provide a version number of ZSNES you were using).RedMistPete wrote:1- Yep - I downloaded the latest version and read the docs. ZSNES does not provide a frontend or plugin or whatever you were talking about.. hence my comment.2- A front end, FYI, is a replacement GUI with bells and whistles.
What you originally posted resembles questions that would have already been answered by the docs...3- I got the answer I deserved? Your not very helpful.
The purpose of a forum is to ask questions that related to a problem, but only if it weren't answered someplace else (docs), or if a particular detail was unclear to you. You were asking like the age old question "how do I make ZSNES play games?" or something along those lines. I apologize if that offends you, but I cannot apologize for user ignorance (it appeared to me that way from your original query).4- Clueless - isn't that the idea of a dedicated forum?

I used to associate my .smc files with a .bat file, it was uber l33t. it would run the rom through smc.com and show lots of information, then give a choice to force the rom in ntsc/pal, and default to normal. plus dos had some bug with filenames containing an ' so it would copy and rename the file before running it (damn yoshi's island.) it was the best frontend in the world! oh how I miss windows 98 ![Crying or Very sad :cry:](./images/smilies/icon_cry.gif)

You're right; I've got a separate front-end for it so I can just select any game from a list and it automatically loads the required emulator and graphical settings before the game starts. 'Zsnes' could incorporate a similar idea where the setting's configurations (graphics, sound volume, controls/input etc) are saved 'for each ROM' and only loaded in just as the ROM is launched.DancemasterGlenn wrote:Not that it matters now, but I'm pretty sure Zsnesw is just what the Windows port executable is named. It's not a frontend.

A frontend doesn't replace a built in GUI, nor does it imply any bells or whistles.

1- I agree, a frontend doesn't 'replace' the zSNES GUI but it is still a GUI. As for the 'bells and whistles' I mentioned, the one I use gives you the freedom to make it look how you want.Nach wrote:RedMistPete wrote: A front end, FYI, is a replacement GUI with bells and whistles.

my bad. I thought nsrt itself just had a front end, I didn't realize nsrt was a front end to begin with, whilst having its own front end. sorta like wearing two pairs of underwear no?
