FF3/6j: A Button isn't working right.

Post by Monkeyfinger »

I'm using ZSNES-WIP (Sep 20, 2004), windows port.

All other games respond fine to the A-button. But FF3 is all fudged up.

Whenever I try to use it to manipulate an object, it worls just fine.

Whenever I try to use it to talk to someone, it usually fails; I have to tap it 5-10 times.

Using it to fly Setzer's airship doesn't work at all.

NSRT says that the checksum is good, but I have no idea how to copy and paste the whole log.

EDIT: Using Version 1.1 of the ROM.

Try using the more recent WIP version.
Try out CCleaner and other free software at Piriform

Try re-calibrating the gamepad. If that doesn't work, then try re-mapping the controls. If that doesn't work, then I don't know what the problem is.
System Specs:

EVGA Geforce 7600GT 256MB

Maybe OT, but are you able to do Sabin's blitzes correctly?

Re-calibrating the gamepad? I'm using a keyboard. Is there a way to recalibrate that? I already tried remapping the controls. No dice.

Sabin's blitzes work fine.

Delete zguicfgw.dat and zsnesw.cfg

You probably have the same key mapped to two buttons (maybe on different pads).

Set each pad so that the dialog reports "CDV: NONE" for each controller except input #1.

That did it. Thank you so very much.
