In Seiken Densetsu 3 if you open the ring menu the screen stretches (I'm using the center aspect ratio) and everything slows down. Happens at the character select screen, the information menu screen, when spells are cast and probably other things too. This same bug occurs in other games as well. SoM on the game select screen and DKC2 on the opening logos are the other ones I've noticed.

Performance is supposed to go down when screens are rendered in hires Awakened, particularly when you mention SOM.

I found that turning off HQ filtering fixes the problem. It seems that ZSNES doesn't use filtering in hires mode, so that's why I never noticed a problem there.

ZSNES cannot use filtering in hires mode.
Besides your own card blur, of course.

<jmr> bsnes has the most accurate wiki page but it takes forever to load (or something)

Actually,... i have to add onto this.

Funkyass is completely right. The Bios setting just disables Hardware DEP. the system will still use Software DEP unless it is disabled in the Boot.ini/BCDEdit, So it will usually still be a pain in the arse regardless.

Yea but it is usually the hardware implementation that causes faults with older software, not the software DEP.
