Demul 0.42 queries
Okay, just got this emulator called Demul, which I've heard is supposed to be a pretty decent emulator. Followed the instructions on how to install it, etc. in order to run games. Well, it also tells me I need to put the dc_bios and dc_flash.bin files in a .zip called "dc_zip" and place it in E:\demul042\roms\dc_zip. I did just that, but no matter how many times I try to load an ISO from the bloody emulator, I always get "unable to openE:\demul042\roms\dc_zip". WTH?! I configure the freakin' thing!

You're not supposed to put the flash dump inside of dc.zip. The bios dump should be named properly too. Like for example I'm using the dev unit bios and named it 1_011_01.bin. It'll tell you the proper name if it doesn't find it when you load a game up too.
For setting up the proper folders it's under config>plugins in the menu. If it went well your demul.ini file should look something like this:
[plugins]
directory=D:\games\emulators\demul042\plugins\
gdr=GDRIMAGE.DLL
gpu=GPUDX.DLL
spu=SPUDEMUL.DLL
pad=PADDEMUL.DLL
[files]
flash=D:\games\emulators\demul042\flash\1_011_01f.bin
roms=D:\games\emulators\demul042\roms\

You put the bios in dc.zip then stick it in your rom folder. You'll have to rename depending on which bios you have selected in config>DC BIOS.
Bios:
CRC 32 / Filename / Version
89F2B1A1 / 1_01d_01.bin / v1.01d (1998,1999)
(I don't have this one) / 1_01d_02.bin / v1.01d (1998,1999)[T+chi]
2186E0E5 / 1_011_01.bin / v1.011 (1998, 1999)[Dev]
5454841F / 1_004_01.bin / v1.004 (1998)

It's most likely a typo in the guide or whatever you're using. What they should of said was create a zip file called dc then put the properly named bios inside. It would of been easier to understand.neo_bahamut1985 wrote:And what's the BS about a "DC_zip"!!?

Sorry for the double reply. Did you ever get the emulator working? I found out a couple of things too that might be useful. Apparently the flash dump can get corrupted by most DC emulators so it helps to keep an untouched backup of it. Also I guess the direct3D plugin for the emulator isn't as up to date as the opengl one so it'd help to switch to that. I Hope the files I sent you over a private messaged worked okay for you too.
