Bloodlust..?! Sheesh, I haven't heard anyone mention that site in years.

Keeping an archive of Nesticle isn't an evil thing. It simply can't be called a good/great emu at this point in time.

Personally, I think it is great that they archive old, defunct emulators. However, they should really rank emulators so that newbies don't just pick the first one they see, and rather get the best ones.

Yeah, maybe they should keep it for nostalgia purpose, but they're calling it a good emulator? Gimme a freakin' break...

I remember when I first learned about emulation; I was at my sister's duplex, and her roommate's boyfriend had a Dreamcast with a NES emulator burned on a CD. We put the CD in my sister's CD drive, hoping we could play NES games, but my brother had to teach us to use a made-for-computer emulator. The emulator he downloaded was Nesticle. We edited the sprites of the Legend of Zelda.

We thought that was the coolest thing ever...

You're right, they should delete all those shrines too because OMG THEY'RE OLD. Damn the preservation of emulation history!

leilei, you're missing the point. It's the second emulator on that list, and it's going to be selected by quite a few people who don't know that much better emulators exist.

Nothing wrong with them having it. What's wrong is placing it so high on the list.

Right.
NESticle should be down there with mIRCNES and TextNES and the like. Not the top of the list along with FCEUltra.

Wow. Someone can't read.

That's pretty much EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE of what you're quoting.

Though I can think of more important things than NES emulation history that aren't being preserved right now.

It is not listed as the best... It is listed as popular... Which is true... They should remove popular and have the best category and put nestopia there.

How can it be popular when most systems can't even run it with sound?

I'll grant them FCEUltra on popular, but I think it's fading at this point.

And it's a pretty clear implication, regardless of what they actually labelled it.

But....but.....where's the zsnes shrine?! What if I suddenly had the urge to play a copy of super mario world on zsnes point-two-five-whatever on my old dos box with Sci-Tech Display Doctor?!

Whew, it's still up. I can die happy.

Wow they still have multi gauntlet emulator hosted. They really need a better organization system. At least have a section for outdated emulators or something rather then bundling them with the new ones.

Edit: In no particular order and before anyone else brings the stuff up: NeogrageX hacks, CPS2 xors, Me am brazil, emuallsystems, fatilla, swampass, emucult, raz, send paypal, dexter's 60FPS mame build, reirom, emulmao, BELIEVE, etc. :) Good times.

Nothing 'ouch' about it: it's called a shrine for a reason. The current Zophar zsnes page has been properly updated to 1.51. This is more giggle-inducing nostalgia than a glaring error.

I don't think I missed any points because I wasn't replying to any points to begin with. My reply was just a reply, nothing more. A alcohol-induced ramdomness, if you will.
