Presidental Poll

Post by adventure_of_link »

So who do you want in office?

(btw I've set the poll to end at the very least at 11:59PM on election day, if not the day after.)

(also stickied to prevent mass redundant threads)

I don't live in the US, but on this thread's poll I voted Ron Paul.

Obama as I don't want unnecessary wars. I also want the next president to focus on Green Energy. Bio fuels from algae could be the best solution and I need them to do more research on this so we don't have total dependency on petroleum.

Obama seems like the better choice if you ask me. Plus, from what I've gathered, McCain is too old-fashioned in more ways than one.

I don't know enough about Barr or Paul to make any comments about them.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

Are you kidding? This guy flies his prostitutes in. By airplane. To houseboat parties. Doesn't sound that old-fashioned to me.

Oh yeah, and he married a beer heiress. Talk about mixing business with pleasure.

Seriously, though, I have big issues with both candidates. Government is too big, does too much, and does it with typical government efficiency. The laws favor the wealthy and the powerful. We have a senate (not sure about the House) that spends most of their time NOT showing up to work, but continually voting themselves pay raises on top of the "gifts" they receive.

None of the problems I mentioned are really more common to the republican or democrat sides of the aisle - that's how both parties think government is supposed to work. Because there's no one to call them to task.

^Pretty much that.

Am I missing something or shouldn't there be an "Other" option?

I thought I already covered that with bob barr and ron paul...

considering these are the people that are up for president, why put an other option? As seen in one of Joe's posts about the mexican elections all that does is provide stupid.

no, you just half-assed it.

Unless you live in Louisiana, you can't vote for Ron Paul.

The correct "other" choice, besides other, is Ralph Nader.

lock it and chalk it up to experience.
Does [Kevin] Smith masturbate with steel wool too?

I don't like either candidate... there's just something awfully bad about the options.

who I want to win is not necessarily who I am voting for.
Therefore, I pick nader. but it's almost too serious of a thing to even joke about at this point.

Man, if Obama gets elected to office, it's going to be epic.

I still bet he is going to get killed.

Don't worry, they've put enough of those ultra-reliable electronic voting machines. They know who their master is.

Hate to say this but I tend to agree

I heard that there was the possibility of Hillary getting killed if she got in office

Bullshit! It is well known that she is immortal. Where did you hear this from?

EDIT: On second thought, I suppose what you mean is that she has an immortality that she would loose if elected.

Yeah.... because SOMEONE'S got a hit planned for EVERYONE.
People just only TALK about it if it's a "hate crime."

Remember, Kennedy was VERY popular. And he also wasn't the target of any hate groups.

Anyways... I'm not really convinced either of the choices is a GOOD one.
Congressional elections for my area aren't exactly interesting.
State elections are totally unopposed for my district. Bleh.
And God knows why we have to vote on EVERY SINGLE JUDGE IN THE TEXAS LEGAL SYSTEM EVERY OTHER YEAR! *sigh*
