I'm slightly annoyed that, once again and for no apparent reason, Microsoft has decided to rename and move various items around in control panel.

*sigh*

Other than that I'm relatively happy with the RC. I've been using it as my main OS* since it came out and it's been fairly decent even on my 3yr old comp.

* This was unintentional. The RC failed to detect and install a boot option for my Vista install.

Running in XP Mode, using jl_cmder to erase my phone. works fine from within XP virtual machine, doesn't work in Vista or 7.

after 'shutting down' the xp mode, it froze for like ten minutes and I had to kill it, just like the real thing.

Only one major gripe:

F6 functionality in Windows Explorer is dorked up. If I use F6 to highlight the address bar, I CAN'T TYPE! because it highlights the drop-menu instead.

If I was more used to win+r instead of win+e, it wouldn't matter.

interesting. out of curiosity, if you select the address bar with the mouse, then use F6 to jump around until it returns to the address bar, where does the focus end up - on the text field or the drop-down?
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.

Hmmm...

I honestly don't know. I'm in XP right now or I'd check.

I suspect it highlights the drop-menu again, but I don't know for sure.

Also need to check F6+tab.

It hilights the drop-menu, and F6+tab doesn't really help anything. It merely jumps to the search filter box next to the address bar.

Prices for the retail and upgrade versions are revealed. I'll probably try to get the OEM version to save some money.

Don't forget the pre-order discounts for Home Premium and Professional Upgrade editions.

And don't forget that the full versions supposedly can't perform upgrade installs, so if you're running Vista and want to keep your settings and programs, you have to use the Upgrade version. Stupid, eh?

I figured since we already have a windows 7 thread I'll just post stuff here

for all those who don't like that windows comes with internet explorer, now you can remove it.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/window ... 5a802fc283

also an ancient link of more windows 7 tricks

http://blogs.msdn.com/tims/archive/2009 ... crets.aspx

also for those who don't know, Windows 7 Release to Manufacturers build will arrive on July 13th
