FitzRoy wrote:I will say that the blue outline around everything in D--'s logo is a mistake. There should be two options, one with a transparent background and black text, and one with a dark background with white text. The sfc logo is currently shorter than the text, it needs to be the opposite, the text is quite dominating.
There are two options. There are infinite options. It's a fucking SVG. Just delete the tag that adds the border and poof it's gone.

For the record, I actually liked that smear logo that feathered and twisted the SNES colors. I wasn't being sarcastic. I think it would look fine beside my lettering. If byuu likes it, I may go through the trouble of vectorizing it.

A program logo should not be a ball of colorful fuzz that resembles nothing. The effect was nifty, but it's too weird for our purposes.
nice ghost, but at least try and use a Big Boo or something.
I intentionally didn't want it to look exactly like a Boo. I'm pretty sure that's a copyrighted character.

and by that logic, the Famicom logo is also copyrighted (even though it isn't copyrighted in the US, but still.)
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

Don't ask me, it was byuu's request not to include copyrighted characters. Besides, what's wrong with being original? Boo is too circular, I don't like his form.

I like this one a lot, very simple, and the colors make it look very retro. Woot.

I redid D's letters to look more like byuu's original concept and I turned "Fink" into a svg. You can now download the images HERE. They are in line art so they can be colorized easily and they are saved in their own separate file making layering them in gimp/photoshop simple.

Here is a quick example I did to inspire

Yes, it's officially on :P
Maybe I should make an actual submission thread. I don't intend to post all 214 variants by gllt though. Those are cool here for ideas, but it'd be like 1-3 entries per person or something for easier judging at the end.

byuu if you want any alterations to the letters I could do it (If nobody wants to), but I suppose you could do it yourself (I have seen your drawing skills :P). BTW people, if you haven't noticed I have uploaded the files.

I like the one I liked better, the curves on the second version felt gratuitous (gllt? gratuitous? blasphemy!)

Sorry for the double post... bobthebuilder did some nice work there! I'm excited to see blackmyst's work seeing some more attention.

EDIT: someone should merge my posts, sorry about that one.

Here is a quick/crappy example (I suppose the b can be resized better to fit fink better).

Perhaps the blue could be a bit more subtle? I liked blackmyst's original colors.

It is vectorized, so anything is possible. I do not know byuu's color preferences, so that is why it is colorless. I did apply a blue/white gradient to the letters when I was messing around and it looked awesome. Consider this an open souce image project (I did just grab other ppls work and modify it :P ). byuu can apply any color scheme/gradient or others can suggest/do some themselves. byuu had a Syaoran Li picture that I assume he did on his site, so he can probably easily tweak any image we did to fit his preference. I will gladly add a color scheme/gradient if byuu already has one in mind 8) .

P.S. I reworded my previous post to make it clearer that the posted image is just an example, It is not intended to be consider a finished work LOL.

P.P.S. If blackmyst has the full fink I can vectorize it and make it a more finished looking svg logo.

I can't draw for shit on my own. And it's even harder for me to draw with a tablet.

The Shaoran pic was from a ~320x240 preview picture of a cel auction on Yahoo! Japan. I scaled it 4x or so, and then used Photoshop to trace the outline using the pen tool. Once I had the outline, I discarded the JPEG picture and colored and shaded the outline myself.

I did that to about a dozen or so pictures actually, but most of my earlier attempts sucked. Was really more of a Photoshop learning experience than anything else.

It is still a good looking Syaoran Li 8) . As I mentioned in my edit I can make a finished svg logo to your specifications with no problem.

Well if we have a contest I want to finalize three entries, none of which are currently here because I would be serious on them.

Two revamps on two old ones and a brand new one thats different from the others.

But if there isn't time that's cool

if the blackmyst svg is gonna win I'm cool with that, but all of the current ones still feel way unfinished

something is missing from them. please find it before its finalized.

Very nice. But the area the old b occupied still needs filled in. And the thin black outline around the text needs to go.
