That one looks really cool. I like the style. Although I wonder if there's some way to make the letters look a little more like letters. It's somewhat hard to pick them out.

I dunno. In terms of the mgs4 thing... it's just pixely letters. That's the way I see it.

Glit's new work is also very nice. Good work, sir.

I like diminish's second one, however it makes me think PS2 instead of Nintendo. If this were a real marketing decision, blackmyst's still makes me want to play SNES more than any of the others. Its light colors and curvacious font are unintimidating, it's got triumphant vibes, and it appeals to nostalgia. I hope the winner can also be made the banner for the a bsnes forum where more people will see it.

Glit, could you take the large colored logo you made and make the lines sharper, like you (seem to have) made the smaller blue version?

EDIT: Also, if possible it would be cool to see a version where you switch the dark blue with the lighter blue, make the overall logo the same blue as your small version and keep the letters within as the button colors.

EDIT2: Also, as of now glit's version is the closest to what byuu originally wanted the logo to look like, connected letters and all. Just throwing that out there. Not sure if it needs a fink when it looks this sexy.

As badass as that is (and it is), can you please shrink them or link them? :P
Princess Xelda will appreciate that very much.

Preview 3 looks very nice in terms of the straight lines. I might go very slightly thicker (mostly for the 'snes'), and more angular like the smaller version was. Was the change to thinner, less angular letters a conscious decision? I was just fond of the ultra-futuristic angles, I guess. Also, did you use a lighter blue when you biggen'D it? Maybe a few shades darker, but at that point I'd just be tweaking it for me, whatever shade it is it's still badass.

The multicolor one is good too, but for some reason it doesn't feel as epic as the all-blue one. That's me and my opnion-ing again, though. Great work.

EDIT: Has it really been 'gllt' the whole time? Sorry about that.

everyone forgets the spelling its alright dude

gilt and glit are both the most popular ones lol
I was suggested to call myself GLLT instead but its not my style

anyway

The angular effect was lost because I'm better at drawing small sharp lines than big sharp lines ;]
And the effects and color are for visibility as requested by my mother

http://i43.tinypic.com/2qds9xe.png latest incarnation on #545454 grey example

EDIT;

this feels kind of cheap but

Hm. Actually, I do like that last one. The last color example you did was a bit washed out, but this new one looks much more vibrant, and the shading adds a lot to it. Looks less like a neon sign and more sleek. The colors are more likeable here too, because they're less washed out. I like this very much.

Haha, yes, I remember shader madness. I never go on IRC, but maybe I will at some point. What's a good IRC client for linux that's user-friendly?

OT: XChat, IMHO. If you don't like XChat and want a terminal client there is irssi (not so friendly) and there are others I forget about.

Mibbit is an online IRC client written in AJAX I believe so it would work

and mIRC/miranda IM IRC work in wine

How about making the 'b' gray like the Super Famicom/SNES PAL unit and the 'n' dark blue to match the color of the X button on the SNES pad?
Baby blue looks so out of place.

Holy CRAZY CRAPPLES that's awesome. And yes, I think you've taken this one as far as it can go with this last shot. Now make something with boring grey and purple for all the US fanboys to munch on.

Also, cookies.

EDIT: Yay I got on to IRC. Then I was intimidated by silence and realized I was hungry. I'll come play later, perhaps.

I loved the all-blue one, though I thought it was a bit empty in the middle. The latest example (candy?) is so pretty that it's a bit over-the-top in my opinion. But you're definitely on to something good here.
