Am I just stupid, or do you not render two views of it
one slightly tilted as is
and another that is top-down of L and R placed directly above the first
or both orthographic and tilted which alternate on hover/click

whatever

You're not even using your own colors from the scan. Your blue is way darker relative to other colors in the render than what you scanned. Also, not diffusing light across the surface made your buttons seem more reflective before, now they seem matte.
FirebrandX wrote:Also, there's too much shoulder button showing in the first one because its an orthographic view. I don't like orthographic views because they are flat and unrealistic. You can keep the old one for yourself if you prefer, but the current version stays as it is.
For an object of such size and depth at this distance, this doesn't appear to be applicable theory. Go ahead and hold a controller out 2ft from your face, the effect will not manifest.

As I said before, I'm not finished with the case holes, so I can't do a top-down view of the shoulder buttons.

whatever? So are you just stupid?

I didn't know, and you don't have to do it now or ever.
It's a suggestion. ;]
It's your paddle anyway.

Here's the idea I had for keeping the cord intact. My apologies to byuu since I have to post it here when I mentioned the idea in the other thread.

Couples of criticisms:

(a) It feels like I'm abusing the equipment, I want to relax the cord
(b) symmetrical balance is lost
(c) my mind is expecting the cord to reappear somewhere near the bottom now. It can't be expected to believe that a 6ft cord is hiding behind the controller.

I think he oughta drill a few holes into that paddle

bonus points for a wood body :P

but hey, it's his art.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

I like the highlight on the cord, definitely consider bending it some - but I agree, this is a bit much. I think the fade out is only necessary when there's no border - in bsnes, the border can just cut it off and it'll look fine. What bothered me was that the cord looked totally black to me, and that made it look flat.

in before "Design the whole cord plug and all, bundle up the cord with a tie strap and stick it behind the paddle in the current bended position with the plug sticking out from the back in an angled position"

I've made a 1680 wallpaper version for those using that size screen. Here's the link to the zip file:
