Wii Homebrew Channel installation help.

Post by franpa »

(1) http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_setup#Bannerbomb
(2) http://bannerbomb.qoid.us/

Hello, when I follow the steps at link (2) It will load HackMii but I experience this issue.
When running the HackMii installer, I get the scam warning, but then it restarts.
The alternative is to use LoadMii and that also runs, but I get nothing in regards to the HBC at all... I just get the ability to run DOL and ELF files from wherever via LoadMii o_o.

So, how do I install the Homebrew channel? I have System Menu 4.0E installed

EDIT: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_status#Newer_Wiis

A lot of pages about bannerbomb lack that bit of information and/or links to it. I am using the LoadMii alternative until the HackMii installer is updated.

Wait, this wasn't clear on either website but according to the description of this youtube video, I do not use the homebrew channel. Instead I must rely on this rather dull method of launching homebrew stuff.

edit: you do use HBC, but there is a bug that occurs on new Wiis that prevent HackMii from installing, a fix is in the works. You can use LoadMii for the time being to load your homebrew applications.

http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Channel

you run the installer using bannerbomb

it's the exact same routine as the twilight hack, except you're running bannerbomb instead twilight princess.

seriously?

Guess it'll be a long time before they can get HBC to work.

For those on System Menu 4.0, you can install the Homebrew Channel as part of the HackMii Installer using the Bannerbomb exploit.

When running the HackMii installer, I get the scam warning, but then it freezes/exits.
anyways, a fix is in the works for people suffering that issue so in the mean time I will just use LoadMii for loading emulators and such.

You can install HBC on v4.0 by using Bootmii beta 1.

Erm, HackMii is a blog, not an actual hack.

That's what BootMii is, a single DOL file. What more can it be?

a installer that installs 3 things instead of 1 and currently doesn't work on new Wiis with system v4.0?

EDIT: I spoke on IRC and it seems you can't get BootMii by itself. You can only get it as part of the HackMii installer package. The next version will fix the bug I (and others) have with the installer package.

It is a beta after all. The devs of BootMii are trying to make recent Wiis work.

more like ,it'll take awhile for them to make it franpa-proof.

this whole thread it full of fail. Franpa, get bannerbomb, install the HBC, it's not freaking rocket science.
