adventure_of_link's "new" ride

Post by adventure_of_link »

Just recently I bought a 1995 GMC Vandura cargo van. some key features to note about it:

1) it's got a 6.5L diesel engine, courtesy of Detroit Diesels
2) a 4-speed autotragic transmission, oh well at least it's got overdrive, and is NOT the 700R4 trans
3) it's got ABS
and 4) because it's a 3500 series van, I have a 1-ton suspension, which puts the GVWR at OVER NINE THOOOOOOUSAAAAND!!!! pounds.

see my van here: http://linksadventure.no-ip.org/pictures/vandurapix

it needs a boatload of work, I know. I don't mind doing it though, so long as it isn't axle, suspension, engine, and/or transmission problems.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

Not yet. I might not ever deck it out (although to be fair I *should* get windows on all my doors), I just want to get all the mechanical failures fixed before I do that.

Eh, I wanted to practice driving big vehicles, and we might be moving soon, so..

I'm not even gonna keep this van for long. if I can keep it running (and possibly restore it and add some new gizmos in the process) I'll sell it.

*shrugs*

I do have a question... WHY A VAN?

Are you planning to make the back of it rock, or just be lame like this normally ends up?

Hm, just the kind of van to lure little girls into.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

Fixed. I don't see little girls being attracted to just butar.

Decent enough reason, I guess.

I second the A-Team suggestion.
