Marvel Super Heroes - War of the Gems

Post by Eldur »

Using zSNESw ver 1.51

File: Marvel Super Heroes - War of the Gems (U).smc Header: Yes
WAR OF THE GEMS TYPE:NORMAL
INTERLEAVED:No CHKSUM:OK

Okay... I'm new to this emulation game, but I've been trying out a few roms and whilst most have been fine I have been have trouble with the game above.

Menus and intro seem okay, but the gameplay graphics are flickering and there's some terrible slowdown. I'm afraid screeshots don't work as I either get a black screen or a perfect one. I have searched on the forums for similar bugs, but most of the posts appear to be from 2007 or earlier.

I was just wondering if anybody has any easy fixes or whether this is an acknowledged bug and the game isn't important enough to remedy!

I used to love it back in the day (which was a Thursday I think), so if I can get it running I'd be very happy.

Thanks for any help and to the devs for bringing my childhood crashing back to me!

Yep. Tried that using:

File: Marvel Super Heroes - War of the Gems (E) [!].smc Header: Yes
WAR OF THE GEMS TYPE:NORMAL
INTERLEAVED:No CHKSUM:OK
VIDEO:PAL BANK:Hi CRC32:AC0F2C23

Still has the same problem. I'll keep trying different ROMs, but any other suggestions are welcome.

This was a known bug until it was fixed in SVN. You'll need the lastest WIP to get this game working properly, in other words.

Okay, thanks. So it is known and I'll just wait until the next revision.

Very kind.

I would try the game in SNES9x, SNESGT, bsnes, or an earlier version of zsnes.

Or if not one of those, then in SNEeSe, SNEqr, Schuper, SNem, JSNES, Super Sleuth, MESS, Xe, NLKSNES, ESNES, NLKE, CHAMPI, SNEMul, Pasofami or VSMC ;)

REIROM sure is one badass developer.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.
