What multi scart options are there that don't rape the signal until it looks like you're watching it taped on a VHS?

Scart is the pinwhore, since it's component+composite+audio (stereo) i/o+sync tricks, the quality depends what pins the console actually outputs to.

Real scart cables, i mean. Those shitty RCA->Scart adapters all use the composite pins.

I kinda covered that with 'component'.
left audio in
left audio out
right audio in
right audio out

blue
green <- component
red

composite in
composite out
blanking
comm 1
comm 2
func switch
+ 8 grounds (main, audio, blue, green, red, composite, blanking, comm)

Because the PS2 still occupies physical space and they want less cables and stuff on their home.
cableless rooms are for weenies
- Saturn via SCART
- PS1 via RGB
- PS2 via Component
- PS2 Slim via RGB
- PS3 via HDMI
- Xbox via Composite
- Xbox 360 via HDMI
- PC via VGA
- Another PC via VGA (my old machine, which I seldom use)
- A printer

A bed. etc.

I will be building a new PC in a few months.. yet more space to work around. This room is about 4 by 4 meters in size. Right now I have less than half of that to move around in..

Just need to install another shelf. Then I can fit at least 5 more computers in here. Right now space is pretty much consumed completely.

A kajillion other cables, etc. Those cables for these surround sound speakers sometimes try to strangle me.

3 monitors (one is actually a 26" HDTV, one a 19" PC 5:4 monitor, one is a 14" CRT TV.

Then there is a box full of more cables, PCB's, controllers, people, etc.
(that last part was a joke).
After that, hundreds of the books I've read surround me, on all shelves. I love reading.

Space is meant to be used, goddammit.

ok, now age yourself 13 years and consider that this is hooked up to the tv in the living room of the apartment that you share with your fiancée, not your high school bedroom.

all those electronics better take up as little space and look as neat as possible.
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.

RGB and component are different standards.
Component is luma, difference from red, and difference from blue(AKA S-video on crack) and post-component SCART supports both formats.

So I'm 31 years old, and all this is going to be hooked up to the tv in the living room that my fiancée expects to be tidy. She'll throw a fit if everything is a mess.
Ja, I see what you're getting at. I was just making fun of it all, what with the way I have everything arranged in this room.

I understand why someone would want to use as little space as possible.

oh, she's a gamer all right - she bought me my DS for valentine's day a few years back, she got her PSX, PS2, GameCube, and DS (and probably her GBA) all on their launch days, and keeps the UPS driver with the toys that keep coming... but god forbid if the place doesn't look nice for company :D

i'll be happy when the chemo's done and she's back up to speed.

Hardcore gamer she is. I haven't even bought a console on launch day yet.

I wish her a speedy recovery.

I bought Uncharted last week kinda doubting I'd be all too thrilled by it...

I spent the majority of a 3 day weekend playin and beating it, so now I want Uncharted 2 and I may get it tomorrow with Brutal Legend

Whenever I get a PS3, I will be getting Uncharted 2 for sure. That game looks intense.

From what I traded in at gamestop I figured I'd be payin out like $20 afterwards, but I ended up with Brutal Legend for like $1.60

So I got Uncharted 2... I got stuck at one part and set it aside for now...

Import only (fuck you, atlus. fuck you hard. but thanks for bringing it to the US).

Which is actually fine with the region-freeness, just a tad more expensive.
It should be delivered here today or tomorrow, I'll report my (very biased) review after a quick look.

Edit: *double sigh*
After a first taste it seems I still find that kind of game atrociously not entertaining and thus similar to a huge piece of shit.
