Yeah even though it's still in its early stages, it's really nice to hear about serious progress being made. I hope it's the best SNES emulator out there when it's released.(faster than BSNES/higan, more accurate than 9x)

You know people will continue to use 1.42 or 1.51. :p
Maybe these people were born without that part of their brain that lets you try different things to see if they work better. --Retsupurae

That's understandable because the only reason I switched to 9x was because ZSNES runs like ass in Windows 8/8.1.(glad I made the switch, and I'll likely switch back when the new ZSNES comes out) My thought was if it aint broke, don't fix it plus the older versions are able to run at full speed on absolutely ancient PCs. Switching to a new emu means optimizing the settings for your PC and all that shit so it's easy to understand why so many people stick to older, less accurate emulators even when superior software is available.

No, not the Japanese model, the first US model. The problem with eBay is I don't know how to tell which model is which.

Thanks I ordered one, should be here soon. I made more progress on the timing part of things, things are more compatible now and picky games appear to boot now, although a lot of the PPU is still missing. But these were problem games that didn't even boot properly in ZSNES 1.0 without hacks that are working fine now so that makes me feel positive. I am testing it on an Intel Atom 1.8 Quad core CPU to make sure it stays fast, so far i'm seeing 60 fps still with the complex timing algorithms I put in, so I am also happy about that.

The next step I think I want to spend some time on making a debugger for it, since right now all I have is logging of opcodes and it's starting to become a pain to figure out whats going on when something doesn't work. I am also working on unit tests that take execution output and compare it to make sure we don't regress on anything that is verified as working.

I got the SNES but it's broken so I am trying to get a refund from the seller. Until then development is on hold again.

Well that's a goddamn mess. Hope you're not out too much man and that you can get an actual working SNES for a reasonable price. I've bought used games/controllers but not consoles. How many broken ones have you been sold so far, or just this one?

I ordered two of them, the first one wouldn't even power on (tried different adapters and everything) and I requested a refund but he said I had to pay for shipping it back ($25) from here so I was kinda pissed off and working with paypal on that one. The second one the cart slot can barely make a connection unless I take the cart in place any movement resets or freezes the game. Trying to return that one as well. So I am 2 for 0 right now. I am probably just going to have to sell out for an expensive one that is guaranteed to work.

They were stupid  to list an item before properly testing it....
or lying? =( ;_;

got a eBay link?

I posted links above to a few there were supposed to be still new condition....

Thankfully eBay has Buyer Protection when this kind of S**t hits the fan!

aside from the $50 donation I sent you,
would any one else here be willing to make a $50 donation so after say $200 or $350,
Pagefault could afford to buy a brand new SNES off of eBay...

while discolored(she smoked in the Living room where it lived...(IT DOES NOT SMELL ;^_^;),
but it wasn't until the 2000s that I learned that the plastic Nintendo used for the SNES was pron to oxidizing.

Yeah I got the money back for one of them, the other one is in dispute now and probably will be refunded as well so nothing is lost, just a waste of time. Anyway they both said the tested and cleaned the unit but I guess they didn't do a good job actually testing it or sent me the wrong one since they had a few for grabs.

I said I would refuse to pay return shipping and they told me to just keep the broken one. Will try again this weekend to find a good one.

I found 2 on Amazon from sellers that have 98% or better seller ratings and lots of reviews, but they're not exactly cheap and they're bare bones.

$58, bare bones, 98% positive seller rating, 3,649 total rating in the last 12 months.

$57, bare bones, 98% positive with 639 ratings in the past 12 months.

No idea if this helps but I hope you don't get scammed again.

Ok I will take a look. I wrote unit tests for the new ZSNES. I want to make sure they pass on the console and the emulator so we don't regress on any bugs and keep max compatibility. I started work on the graphics tenderer but it looks like I am going probably need help with this since graphics aren't my strong point.

To my understanding? Yes.

Super Power Pak:
"Games that use expansion chips other than the DSP1 are not supported, and will not be added."

SD2SNES supports the whole DSPx family, has partial Satellaview support, is working on C4 and SuperFX...
