If a filter isn't blocking SVN repositories...

Post by nintendo_nerd »

I really like the Homebrew Channel and the emulators I can use with it (Snes9x, Visual Boy Advanced, and FCEUltra) all off an SD card. What I also really like is the option to use an SVN client (like Rapid SVN or Sycnro SVN) to obtain the latest revision. Sure, they can be unstable, but they usually give you a small taste of what the next version will be like. Here's what I find strange, I follow the instructions exactly as they're written on the Snes9xWii page: http://code.google.com/p/snes9x-gx/wiki/Compiling and then I proceed to checkout the source code. About 10-15 seconds later, I get a message in Syncro SVN telling me "Operation failed: svn: connection refused by the server". At least I know the internet filter isn't causing it (since I turned it off temporarily and made other changes in the settings thinking it was preventing the SVN from downloading), well, the same error occurred with it off. I looked in my router settings for anything related to a specific port that may be blocked, but I didn't find anything there, either. I recall downloading a revision maybe three months ago and it worked fine. Why it's not working now is beyond me, is it something in firefox's about:config that's screwing something up or what? Or are there other changes I can make in the SVN client itself that will let me download the revisions? I know I'm not a programmer, but I understand how to compile these emulators.

You know I can't make that kind of promise. :?

Edit 2:15 PM - Nope, hangs for about thirty seconds and I get this: Image Which still doesn't make sense. I've even gone as far as trying it on another computer, but it's still giving me this BS error. I thought Turtle SVN would help, but I guess not.

Okay, I admit I screwed up. And yes I did read it, but apparently, I didn't read it correctly.
