Just update HBC and DVDx to the latest versions via the latest HackMii installer, then update your firmware as usual

the latest versions of HBC, DVDx, and (IIRC) BootMii have measures under the hood to get around Nintendo's new measures in 4.2
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

- install latest hackmii first. hackmii will run if you use dop-ios to install an older version of ios30. leave it unpatched. things like preloader and cioscorp interfere with the hackmii installer because they change everything around, and hackmii is attempting to be as safe as possible.

- i used waninkoko's 4.2 updater, then used dop-ios to install the most recent, unpatched ios 60. that'll flip HBC back to normal.

doing what AoL says will still more than likely stub ios 249, and 222 and 223. and getting those back is annoying, to say the least. this is because hackmii does not like the piratiing part of wii modding, and they don't care if you lose that ability.

i'm also curious as to what rev of cios38 you're using. i'm on 14, and haven't seen a reason to update it since i'm using hermes as my primary now. i also use usbloader gx, and neogamma for one disc that usbloader refuses to work with.

stickied threads under wii hacking and backup loaders at gbatemp are good resources for this sort of thing. wiibrew is an excellent source for homebrew and updates from nintendo.

dop-ios is a must-have program on your wii, and NUSD is a must-have for wii on your pc.

alright that clears things up

I've had HBC for a long time, then eventually updated a while back for the games on HDD feature (with exception on GC)

I think my cios38 was rev 14 also
