Okay, so I have a question about a Sony Bravia HDTV . Currently, I've been using my wii to play Snes9xGx and was curious about the strobe effect. Many games, like FFV, FFVI and Chrono Trigger like to use this (such as critical hit animations, spell animations, etc). Is it particularly bad for LCD TVs to display this (and similar) effects? I've been told that it doesn't make a difference, and I'm sure it won't, but I wanted to verify.

No, no, it's perfectly fine for the TV to display that kind of effect. There's no way it could damage any TV I personally know of.

But it's good that you are. That effect wasn't very good for CRTs, and it's even worse for LCDs. There's a serious risk that the panel will actually EXPLODE, filling your eyes with deadly glass shards.
