Save States
I'm not sure how active this place is anymore, and from the looks of it, not very...but anyways, I just downloaded ZSNES and Earthbound. I've been trying to make a save state but it doesn't go through; instead on the bottom it says "Unable to Save." It's getting really frustrating. If anyone could help that would be great.
Re: Save States
Where did you copy zsnes and the game to? Also what OS (Windows XP/vista/7, mac os, linux, etc) and what zsnes version?
Maybe these people were born without that part of their brain that lets you try different things to see if they work better. --Retsupurae
Re: Save States
also, make sure you extracted zsnes from its archive (i.e. you're not running it from within the zip file).
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.

Re: Save States
dunno, but it irritates me so much i disable the explorer extension. i've got a registry patch ready at home; if anyone wants, let me know and i'll post it in the thread.
i really, really do NOT want zip/cab files showing in the folder pane, kthxbye.

Re: Save States
I really could use that registry patch, although I have a feeling that the same patch is waiting for me at home. Need to double-check.

nuke:
restore:
quick disclaimer - all i had lying around is the restore patch; i just created that nuke patch from looking at the restore one. since it's only four keys, i think i did it by hand all the time (while creating the restore patch was just doing four exports and merging the results).
edit again: it's also for x64. if you're running 32-bit, you can skip the two "Wow6432Node" keys.

My Downloads section. Using Windows 7. I can't recall what version of ZSNES it was, though.paulguy wrote:Where did you copy zsnes and the game to? Also what OS (Windows XP/vista/7, mac os, linux, etc) and what zsnes version?
Yep, I've extracted it.odditude wrote:also, make sure you extracted zsnes from its archive (i.e. you're not running it from within the zip file).

Re: Save States
Configure zsnes so that save states are placed in a directory you can write to (like your home folder).

It is ! How about bringing up the GUI and checking what lies in config > paths ?

Re: Save States
I should have been clearer, I meant where do I set the save directory to? I know HOW to, it's just I'm not sure what to write.
You said something about placing them in a directory I can write to. What would I need to write underneath config -> paths in order for it to work properly?
