Now as for this problem, I believe the game is Star Ocean, so this belongs in the Dejap forum.

It's there if I want to do the work around, which I don't. So in a sense, it's not there.

It says "Van I Il". That *is* the name of the town.

I didn't even notice there was a circle, heh. That is a rather odd name for a town though.

probably taking the filters off might fix the spelling "mistake"

Yeah that definately looks like a filter issue. Which of course is simple to correct. Go Pixels! Lol, I still am a supporter of pure pixelation and despise filters for their ability to make no error look like an error. For graphics it's nice but for text it's a no way jose. Lol.

This might also be a good time to point out that the emulator has a screen capture feature built-in, so you don't have to save scaled-up crap that you pulled out with the Print Screen key.

Press F1. It's the first option in that pop-up menu, quite hard to miss. Oh, and before you go and use that, select the "image format" item and switch it to PNG. You know you want to.
