"SNES9x" filter?

Post by -_pentium5.1_- »

I saw in another thread that your forum seems to have a filter to discriminate against the name of the other major SNES emulator. Isn't this a little bit impolite? That emulator's forum doesn't have a filter to discriminate against ZSNES.

Testing:
snes9x snes9X Snes9x Snes9X SNES9x SNES9X
snes9x snes9X Snes9x Snes9X SNES9x SNES9X

P.S. I didn't see the filter working when I clicked "Preview." This is in reference to the "snes9x (btw i am dumb) (btw I am dumb)" in the thread about Star Ocean GFX files. Let me go ahead and post this and hope no one complains...

P.P.S. I have been on this forum before; the problem was that I had my user account deleted due to inactivity. (Blame academic issues and spending too much time on the SNES9x forums...)

Try switching the 9 and X like shown in the filter: snes9x (btw i am dumb). As you can see, the filter failed to actually fix the spelling. I thought I mentioned that it had a typo in that thread.

s n e s x 9 == snes9x (btw i am dumb)
ZSNES (FYI, I am really really dumb) == zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to learn the name of the emulator)

It's entirely a spelling thing, and yes, the Snes9x/x9 filter is broken.

This filter is only impolite to those dumb enough to write snes9x (btw i am dumb) or zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to learn the name of the emulator) in the first place.

LOL! The filter is not impolite at all in any way. Just a good way to point out spelling errors.

Yes, I do happen to read what some of you guys complain about from time to time.

I might also add that I'm sorry for screwing up the filter the first time around.

These filters are great when people don't even know what fucking emulator they are using.

"a game without a gun on the hood and therefore sucks" had to be the best one of 'em all.

Wasn't it more like "some racing game which doesn't have a gun on the hood and therefore sucks?"

I think my favorite was Tactics Ogre == Tactical Orgy.

I've been around here for a long while, under several different names. I suspect I've been around for longer than most other people here.

What names did you go by in the past?

Now, as for board filters, who can forget the "Hitler" filter? And what about the ol' "rom" filter.

He was definately an older poster. I remember saying to myself "Oh hey he must be that guy" earlier on.

Fucked if I can remember who 'that guy' is, though.

Sorry! I figured out very quickly after posting this that the filter had something to do with misspellings (such as zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to learn the name of the emulator)) and not the proper spelling of SNES9x. I apologize for this unnecessary complaint.

BTW, I do know the trick of bypassing the filters like this (minus the spaces):
Z N [ b ] [ / b ] E S
That's why there were two rows of "SNES9x" in my test above. One had the filters bypassed by the insertion of an extraneous BBCode tag.

Testing:
snes9x (btw i am dumb)
snes9x (btw i am dumb)

lol, that same trick was used to get the "n" word around the filter, in the "forum" forum.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?
