OK, I think the meaning of ambidextrous isn't clear here. :?

Dictionary.com states that ambidextrous means "Able to use both hands with equal facility." With this definition, I think you would have to be able to write with your left hand and bat with your right as well in order to be ambidextrous. Therefore, I think you are just right-handed.

I, for example, write with my left hand, but use scissors with my right hand. I can't use scissors with my left hand. Therefore, I consider myself left-handed.

We could probably argue over this for an eternity, though. In the meantime, some details about ambidexterity can be found in this Wikipedia article. Perhaps the title of this thread should be "Which hand do you primarily use the most?"

I'm usually right handed.

However, there's some things my left hand does that I can't do with my right (eg: snap)
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

Ewww.

Anyway, I started out left-handed as a toddler, but my parents kept on me until I was using my right for everything. So now I suck with both arms. My writing is best left to a computer.

I bat, throw, write, and service a girl right handed.
I eat, brush my teeth, and do that thing snkcube was talking about left handed.

I am just a smidge left-handed.

I can write just as sloppely right handed as left, but write a bit slower and more awkwardly.

Everything else I do is right-handed. My right hand is stronger, too.

I write, throw and bowl right handed. Oddly enough, I can write somewhat legibly with my left hand, but backwards. With practice, I could probably do it independantly, but right now I can do it best if I'm writing the same thing forwards with my right hand.

One of the guys on my bowling team writes leftey, but bowls rightey.

Left-handed. I'm always reminded by various things that the world wasn't designed for left-handed people.

I am completely ambidextrous. I can write equally as well with either hand, I use 2 mouses on my desk, 1 lefty, 1 righty. in the morning I tie my shoes at the same time, each side with the appropriate ambidexterity. I flip a coin when I need to: write, yap on the cell, bat, throw a football, masturbate, apply deodorant, solder, and use other hand tools. each of my hands can be used to the fullest, which is called ambidextrous. unlike you wannabes who are right handed and can only light a cig with their left. there's better things in life than being ambidextrous, so quit trying to sound cool by saying you are, cause you people just sound like idiots.

Ambidexterous. I switch between left and right hands for mouse or joystick use whenever one hand gets tired. I write equally shitty with both. Seriously, worst handwriting in the universe.

I am self-taught ambidexterous. At first it was extremely awkward. After less than a month I was leagues better than I was originally. I'm under the impression that most people can become ambidexterous if they consciously try.

Most people who say they are "right handed" or "left handed" are total douchebags because they make the great bias that "WRITING IS EVERYTHING". Writing is a precision skill that you learn over the course of years, well after your body has learned it has two hands. If you spent as much time writing with your left as you did with your right, odds are they'd come out more or less the same.

Soul, that is bullshit. I know several people who are left handed, such as my uncle, who were forced from early childhood to become right handed. Back in the 50s and early 60s, they thought that left handedness could be solved by forcing right handedness. It never worked, and in fact it became very detrimental.

 I'm not saying otherwise. Read again. I'm not arguing that you aren't born with an intrinsically dominant hand. But anyone can learn to use their opposing hand well enough to do anything except perhaps writing.

Most computer-saavy people I know are left handed.

I can use a mouse just fine with my right hand, though it normally stays on the left side of the desk.

When I play a game with right-handed default keymappings, I just move the mouse to the right side rather than remap.

This is completely different than my dad, whose right hand is pretty much useless. Or so he says; he can use a model airplane transmitter, which has a joystick for each thumb, just fine. (they need to make computer joysticks more like them)

Just don't shake left hands with him; he'll break every bone in your hand as opposed to inflicting extreme pain.

I see...then right it is. I use it more than my left.

That's odd. Virtually all of the computer-savvy people I know are right handed.

They do. Check out Circuit City or Best Buy. Or just get a PS2 adaptor.

Amdexterous.

While I can do anything with either hand, I favor writing with my left hand, but other things, such as eating a bowl of cereal, or using a mouse, pointing, carrying something heavy, punching, throwing; I favor my right.

The only reason why I actually favor my left for writing was me trying to prove a point to someone when I was younger by writing with my left hand, and I got used to it. Although in recent times, I don't write much at all, except on a whiteboard, but in cases like that, I use my right hand.

I do have a PS2 adapter. I wasn't referring to the fact that there is a joystick for each thumb.

If you have ever used an airplane transmitter, you'll realize how much a PS2 controller sucks for finite control.

Airplane joysticks (excuse the phallicness) are far stiffer than a ps2 controller, allowing better control. They also stay in the center position far better, and are longer. It allows you to input movements so small they are barely noticible (if you are watching the person fly) easily, and the airplane will respond.

Things like sniping would be far better with this implementation in video games.

another fine example of trying to be ambidexterous. there's nothing dorkier than saying how ambidexterous you are. nobody cares which hand you use to eat a bowl of cereal, even less than how much they care what hand you use. thus the reason why it is pathetic to claim to be ambidexterous. you have a better chance at scoring a girl telling her you can type without looking at the keyboard than telling her you're ambidexterous.

this could only get better if magus showed up and bragged about how ambidexterous his is, or maybe zophar.
