I guess those words I posted about how emulating the ps bios would be legal if the author did so by his own means went way over your head. in case anything else went too far over your head, or even to the side, this oughta help you catch up: bios stands for "basic input output system" just fyi, also when we say ps, we mean playstation (it's a gaming console made by sony,) not to be confused with "power supply."

as for the emulator itself, I still have a hard time believing it. I have 1 ps iso, I don't even want to play it, but I'm eager to test out the emu with it. so anyone else use it with no ill effects?

What the? Whatever you're on...I want some  Seriously,I know what "Bios" stands for...And I was refering to the post I "quoted" only, not your other ones.

I'd think that by now, it would have been known if there were. One thing Nach didn't mentionned is that having your emu open source removes all doubts that your program was not simply derived from something else.

I gave reasons why open sourcing a program is good for the program itself. What rumors there are about a program are irelavant when improving a program.

Backing up to the BIOS issue...

Yes, Sony sued Bleem! over their reverse-engineered BIOS. They LOST.
They sued Bleem! over anything and everything they could think of, including some charges that were blatant BS and should've been laughed out of court. They lost EVERY SINGLE CASE they brought against Bleem.
But they won because their pockets were deeper. Had the judges penalized Sony for flagrant abuse of the system, Bleem! would still be around.

So no, the law hasn't changed. Reverse-engineering a BIOS is still legal. Sony's just willing to waste the cash on frivolous lawsuits to crush the competition.

No problem. :D

This emulator is pretty slick, but there's a bit of a bug in it

specs:
AMD Sempr0n, 3200+ 1.8GHz
ATi Radeon Xpress 200m (128MB V-RAM)
Windows XP Home, SP2
512MB RAM
pSX v1.4

problem:

Playing Monster Rancher 2 in fullscreen mode, there was an instance where somehow csrss.exe took up all my remaning CPU time, and I was running at 4-8FPS.

All I can say is hell yes to the ditching of using plugins. I hate having to setup every damn game with the right plugin settings everytime i wanted to play.

Edit damn I wanted to try see if its pretty good but the link is dead now.

Would the question of switching over to using the PCSX's emulated HLE bios be out of the question? If you used those in your code you wouldnt need bios at all for the emulator.

whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

Zomg like no one ever ask for feature request or question in general. All of you fuck off. Not like I demanded I just asked if it was worth looking into. Yeah we all know how sued the pcsx team got too. Ohh wait nope they didnt.

You're not asking for a feature. You're asking for stupid.
Like asking that some roms get bundled with zsnes.

Very smart there, kid.
