I've been using peer guardian for years now. It works very well, with a few exceptions. Because sometimes someone might report an ip-address that shouldn't be reported. but all in all its a great tool for protecting your privacy.

its not protecting you from this server, Peer Guardian's area of protection is rather limited.Oskar_Hanberg wrote:I've been using peer guardian for years now. What has this server to do with pg?.. I don't get it at all.. and why would I need "protection" from this server?
"All kinds of private exploitation is theft in the sense that what exists in this world belongs to all of us, and so called 'Intellectual property', or software, is no exception to that"
Well, it seems to me that PG has done nothing to mask your IP address from the server, hence the comment about you "not being protected from the server." If it can't even mask your IP on phpBB, it's probably not very good at it in general.

Where did I suggest that PG hides ip's? and if it does it would only hide your IP from listed servers.. and I doubt that the Zsnes server adress ever did anything to harass people who chose to acquire their software in alternative ways. Anyway, from what I can understand it just blocks incoming requests from certain servers. Though it sometime blocks the wrong thing. Like eletcronic arts gaming server and gamespy.

Backup your false claims of my IE fanboism! I have never said that IE is a "decent" browser. IE is a horrible browser, and I never use it, nor recommend it.Oskar_Hanberg wrote:says a person who claims IE is a decent browser... nuff said.Que wrote:You have a point. It will. also, I preffer that it blocks too much rather than too little. So I don't mind having to unblock some addresses now and then as long as I can aquire culture in my way of choice without being watched and harassed for it.DarkBenny wrote:PG seems to block a lot of things (like schools) but will it keep me safe while I do my necessary bittorrenting?
