Did you uninstall the previous video card drivers before you installed the NVidia card? That's generally what causes problems.

Are you running SP2 and DX9?

Have you tried disabling video acceleration or using non-overlay modes?

Start -> Run, type in "dxdiag" w/o the quotes. Go to the video/display tab and disable acceleration from there.

Awesome that works. However how the hell am I supposed to get hardware acceleration in anything now? Also if i have to disable this doesnt it make this video card absolutly worthless?

Pretty much. Try reenabling and see if it helps. (Reenabling sometimes helps the situation.)

I do suggest trying different drivers (newer/older) and see if the issue is fixed.

Where can I find older drivers also are there unoffical drivers that work better. I know for ATI I always used the omega drivers and they where much better. This is my first time using a nvidia card in ages and its been nothing but pure trouble.

I believe Omega still does NVidia drivers... I could be wrong. Anyways, you can find tons of NVidia drivers @ http://www.guru3d.com

Try the RGB rendering options in BS Player. They shouldn't use overlays. You may need to look for an older/cracked version of it, though, because the newer versions are either payware or come bundled with adware.

Never heard of it. That may just be your problem. Even if you buy low end, buy from reputable companies.

Thanks everyone. You guys are simply the best tech suport ever. I went with some old drivers and it fixed all the issues with video playback.

However new issues accured. http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/6738/newerrormh6.jpg

The latest drivers should work fine with the GeForce6 series. Try re-installing DirectX9c. It looks like something in that is fubar.

Go figure. I've always felt NVidia drivers for Windows have been going downhill for a long time now.

I'm using the 9x.xx series and I've not had any issues. My card isn't even that new, either.

Are you sure it isn't sharing any IRQs with other devices?

In the device manager, view resources by type.
