We need clear rules for thread locking

every time I get an awesome thread going, it gets locked. sure this is 'left to the judgement of childish mods' and 'zsnes board is not a democracy' but what makes someone lock a thread? I can see if the thread was derailed into a flaming pile of stfu, but what else?

I just had a nice thread going on about how rude I am. it had:

constructive criticism
motivating words o' plenty
no flames
no swearing
no beastiality
a positive affect on my entire outlook on life

and it was locked. wtf? which jealous bastard locked it? no reason for lock, just a lock. and then 9 times out of 10 other mods go in and add comments, which proves the thread was going somewhere in the first place. screw the zsnes docs, make some rules for zboard thread locking and stick to 'em!

I locked it. Look what happened last time someone jokingly said make this person a mod/admin. I never comment before locking a thread. I'm not doing it to wave my penis around etc, besides, we already accomplished the goal of the thread.

accomplished the goal of the thread, I can't see that as a reason. there are a million topics like "help me find an mp3 player" and replies are posted, showing mp3 players, yet they aren't locked. "help me do this and that" with replies of demonstrating how to do so in detail, yet they're not locked. even thread necromancy happens and no lock!

you locked my thread cause I was getting all the attention and you weren't. had the thread been about you, it would not have been locked by your own jealous self. this is some biased nonsense!

p.s. the thread was not done, there are many others who could provide me with even more constructive criticism, and would like to give me a piece of their mind! let their voices be heard!

I remember the days when we used to be buds. whatever happened to that demios I used to know and love? the one I modified my custom phony-perl random quote image script for so he could use as he pleased (that still to this day shows up in my http logs.) where did my demios go?
