This is very interesting. Do you know how to get in contact with this author? I wonder if he would mind us hosting that file on the ZSNES-Docs web site. Obviously, it's not official (or completely up-to-date) documentation, but it's better than nothing (for speakers of Portuguese).

I do like the idea of certain graphical how tos. Shouldn't be in the distributed docs, but on the website sounds good.
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

Hello,

I'm Filipe Antônio Marques Falcetta (if you want to put my full name on the website link... you're free 8) ), the author of the (Brazilian) Portuguese ZSNES tutorial.

First of all, I totally agree with the hosting on ZSNES-Docs web site.

I have plans for future translating (and updating) into English this file.
I created this tutorial less than a week before the 1.50 release date

The website graphical how-to idea sounds good to me too.
I think I can do something when I have free hours to spent :)

Greetings,
Filipe Falcetta

Can a mod please move this to the Docs forum?

Nice to hear from you! Do you have any interest in translating any or all of the official documentation? Why did you create the guide originally? Do you know of many people who would benefit from Portuguese documentation? I've already posted a link to your guide (and mirrored it on SourceForge) here: http://zsnes-docs.sf.net. Do you prefer having both links as it is now, or would you prefer everyone download it from SourceForge? I'm not sure how much bandwidth your host can handle.

Furthermore, does anyone have any thoughts on the best way to handle mutlilingual docs? I remember when the Wiki was still online, we had multilingual pages of that.

If we were going to have multilingual HTML docs, I would want all languages in the same file, to reduce the amount of work needed to keep all the markup the same. I just don't know how practical that is. If various Wiki software packages have built-in support for multiple languages, I would say just use that.

Hey Jipcy,

I have a lot of interest in translating the official documentation of ZSNES. (I have also two doubts: How often do you release another version? Is it related with the emulator versions or a totally independent project?)

I've downloaded the ZSNES v1.51 docs, I'm reading it to start translating.
I'm on summer vacations, I have free time to spend.

About the links: I think both links (on Enio's web site and SF's) is the best. We (I and Enio) have plans on creating an official brazilian ZSNES web site. It's for future, but... 8)

I originally created the guide for a virtual contest on ZSNES (brazilian) Orkut community, presently with about 1,100 people.

I think lot of people would benefit from a Portuguese documentation.

The Orkut community is growing consistently on a daily basis (we were about 1,000, less than a week ago).
We also, in Brazil, have large groups of ROM translators (brgames.org) and lots of emulator forums.

I'm only saying about Brazil, but Portuguese documentation could benefit another people: Portugal fans (our language is a little different, but pretty understandable), it could help Spanish speakers too (the language is very similar), to name a few.

Greetings,
Filipe Falcetta
