Wifi problem

Post by clessoulis »

I just got an acer aspire L100 however it came with Vista pre installed. So I went out got a 750GB HDD installed XP 64. However I went to there page and they seem to have absolutly no wifi drivers. I was wondering wtf i'm supposed to do now? Is there any work around for this?

1 minute with google results in:

"The first thing I did w/the L100 was upgrade the memory from the 1 gb PC2 4200 to 2 Gb of PC2 5300 memory. It uses laptop memory. I also replaced the Vista OS w/XP Pro. The L100 is the home version of the P1000, which comes w/XP Pro, so you can use it's drivers. The video and chipset are Nvidia, so you can get the latest releases there."

Ok i'm guessing i'm failing again but I went to there site and picked up the p1000 lan drivers but I have no clue how to actually install these things. They don't come with a setup file or a batch file.

VOODOO!

go into your network places.

open up the properties for your device

hit the configure button

update the drivers.

Wouldnt I need network drivers setup in the first place to do a update. Or does it simply let you select a folder to update your drivers from?

Does the Device Manager list anything under "Unknown Devices"?

What do you already have under Device Manager > Network Adapters?
