Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

It's great hear about progress picking up again. It really warms my heart. Now I'm feeling nostalgic about an era of emulation which catered to one's nostalgia to begin with  (hard to believe that the difference between the SNES release year and ~2001 when I joined was less than 2001 and today)...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

Wow, it must have been by sheer coincidence that I registered that following day as well. I used to post more often before the forums were phpBB, but activity waded out over the years.

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

There's always Fraps for real-time recording (assuming it works for ZSNES). What's wrong with off-line video dumping? Instead of dealing with the headaches and possible imperfections of real-time recording, you can get a pristine, full speed and perfectly synchronized video file by dumping it offlin...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

I'm all for as-accurate-as-possible emulation as well. However, I continue to wait patiently for ZSNES 2.0 mostly because I've stuck with ZSNES for over 10 years. Not only that, it has the best movie dumping functionality I've seen, IMO. I love manipulating the raw video in AVISynth however I want. ...

Though I'd probably lurk around a bit before asking, I would also be very curious on the state of ZSNES just by looking on the "surface." Anyway, it's awesome to hear that there's still activity going on after all these years. It's been nearly 10 years since I first started posting on the ...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't ZSnes be used "properly" at 120Hz, since it's a multiple of 60? :? Probably, but 120 Hz doesn't exist at high resolutions. I'm running on 1600x1200 @ 85 Hz now. I used to have it at 1280x1024 @ 60 Hz on my old monitor. This monitor can go up to a good 19...

Start ZSNES with the parameter "-6" and see if that helps. The easiest way in Windows to do that is to create a link, and change the "target" line to " path \zsnesw.exe" -6 Thanks, creaothceann. That seemed to resolve this issue. Or just use Triple buffering without VS...

Keeping refresh rate at 60 Hertz in full screen

I just got a new, high-end CRT monitor recently, so I've kept the monitor's refresh rate at 85 Hertz (since its easier on the eyes). However, I discovered that ZSNES wouldn't be able to display the game smoothly because of the change in the refresh rate, and looks best at 60 Hertz. (I've read somewh...

Ah, I see. That's a bit disappointing to hear, but nonetheless this new official release is nothing short from outstanding.

zsKnight hasn't done anything with zsnes since he left, before the release of 1.337. Yeah, I know. I was around when he expressed the news of his father's death, and his resignation from being an active part of the emulation community. I'm just glad that he's still around and still taking part in Z...
