You could set a different key combo for games that use soft reset, to prevent accidents. Yes but restoring a save state also overwrites the in-game save file to conform to that save state. That's why I always do a save state right after an in-game save, even if I have no intention of "cheating".

But right after I was about to start a new game...I gave the cheat one last try, typing it EXACTLY as the cheat was stated (Usually, I would put the dash, but this time I didn't)
There's a difference between PAR and GG codes, you know.

The risk is very VERY low, if you know how to use the iron.
