have two types of install... one where everything is hardcoded in and the other where you specify where each thing is stored and where to install zsnes.

5 megs is hardly killing dial-up users.

using dial-up is a completely different experience from broadband, and dial-up people know how handle a 5 meg file just as well as a 100 meg file.

Hey all...
Sorry that I kinda fell off the radar with this.
My 250GB Hard Drive crashed and I lost like half of my life with it :(
(yeah, I know everyone is going to flame me about back-ups and what not)

On a good note:
I started remaking it from scratch, and have already made it be able to upgrade ANY zsnes.cfg file, to the version that you are installing :)
It basically takes all the variables from your previous .CFG file, and dumps them into the new .CFG.
I had a lot of fun coding-it, and I hope it'll be useful.

Expect some new screen-shots soon...
and better yet, hopefully a working executable for you guys to try out too!

Yes! It is going to have Normal and Custom Install Types.

Below is a screen-shot of a VERY EARLY Beta Version, of my ZSNES Windows Installer.
I will be adding more to it and making it even better, before the Public Beta Release.

This is what the user will see while the installer is scanning for ZSNES's required components, such as DirectX 8.

This installer looks very cool, but I am a little unclear on something. Is this supposed to be something that is an installer you download, and it just basically just unpacks itself into different places on your computer, or is this supposed to an installer that you download, and then it downloads from a server somewhere the individual components that you selected and installs them? If the latter, that sounds cool. If the former, I'm a little skeptical.
