Please wait a couple more hours... pagefault made numerous updates for this specific feature... so what you're experiencing is what was submitted the first time it was actually implemented.

It's not always easy integrating new features with the rest of Zsnes.
Give Pagefault some time to tweak things.

Anon CVS is lagged by 3-24 hours so it's probably not a good idea to use any code from there until a day after it's been submitted :)

Windows is 100% complete now.

Next on the list is Linux/SDL

For people who can't wait for anon cvs to update:
http://zsnes.game-host.org/~pagefault/zsnesw_ntsc.zip

* the filter is only avalible on resolutions 600x446 and larger

Still no 512 pixel wide hires mode (like in Secret of Mana), and 240/480 line mode still makes the display stretch vertically to 2x its height, cutting off the bottom half of the screen. This is with 3/29 WIP.

Most filters just don't work with Hires.. just something that you will just have to accept.

But pagefault claimed hi-res mode was coming "soon" and that was when he released the NTSC filter only version of ZSNES on March 1st. All the NTSC filter related bugs I have experienced are still there (also that annoying little green line in the GUI)

Dev-CVS is down at the moment, so please cope with it until it's back up.
We can't do anything at the moment.

Confirmed. Please tell me when it's time for me to post a formal bug report...

The high-res filter will not be supported for a while as changes are needed to make it work with the way the original filter was designed and since there are only a handful of games that actually use pseudo hi-res this won't be a priority to support.

Overscan games are a known problem and there is nothing we can do about it right now because sourceforge dev cvs has now been down for 3 days which essentially locks us out from doing any sort of work on the source.

really great leap for the Zsnes, it brings out what snes games should look like on a TV

It's looking quite nice, even though the scanlines seem to be a bit disorganized no matter which resolution I'm using.

Can't wait for a PAL filter, I hope somebody can get the needed info.

The most important step of even getting such a filter is finding a algorithm that is consistant with most, if not ALL PAL TVs...

Well, from what I've seen it might not be too different than just the NTSC filter without scanlines and interlace.

You don't realize, but there's no need for a PAL filter.

The only 'effect' we get are:
- permanent overscan (left empty in 99% games)
- squished screen

There's not even a graphic flaw worth rendering.

No, there's more to it than that. Like the irregular vertical lines, the ghosting around the graphics and that kind of stuff.

Get drunk, and here's your ghosting.

Modern PAL Tvs don't have anything of that sort.

I think he wants to emulate PAL TV signals from that era (early 90s).

I'm certain my TV does, and it's not that old. At least it did with the MegaDrive RGB signal, and it looked quite similar to the effect in this NTSC filter. Also, I'm sure that at least the NES I have does the other effect that prevents straight vertical lines to exist.

I'll see if I can take some pics from my PAL SNES this weekend.

Just tried the latest WIP...Lots of changes to the menus since the last time
I used Zsnes...And I was suprised to find there's no lag when using triple beffering...So emm...yeah I guess Zsnes is getting better, next big step I suppose is to do things more accurately.

Blargg's NTSC filters looks pretty amazing with Snes output. Iceknight is right concerning the irregular scanlines. But I think that's an issue with Zsnes itself rather than with the filter.

Can't wait to see it in bsnes.
