Emulators for Wii/GameCube

Post by corronchilejano »

So, what machines are emulated on Wii or GameCube? I'm looking for a SNES emulator, but I've no idea how to search for it, or how would it be burned (both my GC and WII are modded).

Also, is there any PSX emu for any of those two?

I CANT buy games on the Virtual Console since there's no current way for me to get points. Also, on the PSX side, I want to play Driver again, but on my Cube/Wii.

It's been an eternity since I checked the GameCube homebrew/hack scene...Last I checked it wasn't really practical.

So, is it possible to run homebrew applications (like the Snes emulator mentioned above) without a modchip?

Snark: As far as I know, the dreamcast was the only system you could play pirated games without spending any money on stuff other than blank discs. At least a set of swap cds.

corron: Awwr, you has no spare money or a bank debit card with visa or something?
Athlon XP 2800+
765MB DDR-333
AGP Geforce 6200

Took me, what, a year to update this info?
And meh, screw legs.
Oh... puns. I get it. Shame on me.

A. Homebrew is not pirated.
B. The pre-CDR machines are all open. TurboCD, SegaCD, NeoGeoCD, 3D0hno.

More like Virtual Console DOES NOT WORK in my country, or any type of online play on Wii for that matter.

Gil: Good point, but I'm sure the console doesn't care to make a difference, and I didn't know about the older consoles, that's pretty cool.

We don't really get anything over here. It just doesn't connect saying "Online Services are unavailable." People have told me that there's service on Brazil and going south, and like Honduras going up, they all have Virtual Console. It's like 3 countries here that can't use it.

Hell no. There's XBox live, and even PSN, but Nintendo went out of this land a long long time ago (pretty much like god). Hey, we got coffee, soap operas and a good soccer team.

They're not. Due to taxes, both 360, PS3 and Wii *GASP* cost around the same! Wii is at 500dollars, 360 is at 550, PS3 (with EMOTION) is at 700. Thats why I import everything.

Back to topic, anyone knows what happened to that experiment to emulate PS1 on GC? Until the Wii is hacked like a turkey on a US thanksgiving, I rely on everything gamecube.

no, what I meant is that they're losing your money because they don't offer virtual console to you. Also what region is it there?

That sucks. Isn't there any way to use the Wii's online features by proxy of some kind?

I would assume it has more to do with the ISP or your IP.

I wonder if there is anyway to lie to whatever is checking such things to gain access to that content.

for example, Xbox live is based on the country of your passport/hotmail/live account, so I can access japanese or uk only content by registering a free silver account with a live email address from those countries.

in fact that's exactly what I do ;)

SD Media Launcher sounds really easy to use. Maybe I should get one as well, since, you know, there are alot of a games that needed to be ported to the virtual console (*cough* Chrono Trigger *cough*) Would this work on a wii in gcn mode or did a recent Nintendo update render it unusable?

It's certainly possible that the recent update rendered it unusable. Damn it, I was hoping for a Wii Freeloader!
