Place to talk about all that new hardware and decaying software you have.

looks fine.

But please do be careful about the label that goes over the seam at the top of the two half shells. You don't want to just cut the label with a knife. A hairdryer to peel it off in the worst case, but most of the time just cracking it open a little, will let you get the circuit board completely out.

You do have a soldering iron, correct? Also, since it appears that battery isn't tabbed, you will most likely need a socket for it. mouser or digikey is your friend.

all he gives you is a battery that can be purchased for $2 at any local store (pry CR2032) and the bit to open carts. he says to hold the battery on with tap, are you serious? piece of shit. I got a battery holder from radio shack, shaved it down a bit, drilled a few extra holes on the pcb, and soldered it in. it still makes the cart buldge a little, but nobody will notice.

I wish one of the Taiwanese knockoff companies would make a pin-compatible drop-in MRAM or FeRAM replacement chip.

That way, the whole dead battery situation is resolved.
