i'm kind of new to zsnes (i've had it on my computer for a while, but i mainly used snes9x, until i figured out you could 'rewind' in zsnes) and i have a quick question:
why are some of my optionsmissing under 'filters'?
vsynch and triple buffering:
i've noticed that when either is on, i get a lot less lines across my screen.
is either preferred, or is that opinion as well?
To actually answer your question....
Triple-buffering is generally preferred, as it results in a smoother emulation experience. VSync without triple-buffering typically results in the emulator "hiccuping" occasionally.
This thread bothers me since people don't read the legend that is listed in ZSNES.

Use a D mode.
also, is there any need for me to use vsynch? when i turn it on i cannot fast forward.
Optional, but if you hate screen tearing, you will need it. I couldn't tell you why you can't fast forward other than Vista has effectively deprecated DDraw, so that's not really a fault of ZSNES.
