And this, this is why I'm a Nintendo fanboi.
It took 10 years, but the awesome things are back in my hands.

Re: Dragon Quest X is coming to the Wii
Why?
The Wii is byFAR the best-selling system of the current generation. And Dragon Quest has never been known for pushing the limits of technology.
Bahumat, don't remind me about that.
Besides, Squeenix has made it pretty damn clear that they aren't going to do a new Chrono game.

easy as pie here.
it'd be best to keep your fanboy stupidity out of this discussion.
i actually own all 3, and the 360 is my primary. the wii is my party console. i'll eventually get around to finishing no more heroes and RE4, though.

Well, so have the Final Fantasy games. But see the only system FF13 is -not- ending up on.Gil_Hamilton wrote:Again, why?blackmyst wrote:Before DQ9 went to the DS, yeah, it would've been unexpected. Now, not so much.
The DQ games have always been on whatever the most popular system in Japan was.

that situation is different. had nintendo not ticked off square so much, FF very much could have stayed on nintendo, and sony wouldn't be the powerhouse they are today.
basically it's not that FF went onto the most popular console, it's that whatever console had FF became the most popular. that's only changed this gen because squeenix can't really afford to not tap into the 360 north american userbase.

I don't think FF7 alone would have tipped the scale in Nintendo's favour.
But to look at it from another side, if what you say is true, why wasn't DQ8 on the GBA? =p In fact, why hasn't there been a single main series DQ on the GBA at all? Aside from remakes, there never even was a DQ on any Game Boy handheld. And don't say it's because they're handhelds, people were saying "DQ goes to the most popular platform" when 9 was announced, too.

if what i say is true, then DQ doesn't apply. assuming you were still talking to me.blackmyst wrote:I don't think FF7 alone would have tipped the scale in Nintendo's favour.
