Have you played Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, or Metal Gear: Ghost Babel?

I'd rank them AA-double-plus.

GBC game was retitled for maximum confusion.

It was originally Metal Gear: Ghost Babel.

And MSX Metal Gear for the win!

I watched a longplay of MGS with my younger brother a while ago.

He said "Someone should make a movie of this game"
And I said "Someone should make a game of this movie"

Because when played by someone who knows what they're doing it's like 3 minutes of gameplay and 300 minutes of people talking.

It was an OK experience though I guess.

You've confused Snake's Revenge with a decent game.

Metal Gear Solid was pretty groundbreaking in how cinematic it was without being a FMV-jerkoff. It had good voice actors, it had an engaging and interesting plot and it was incredibly cool to play as you were discouraged to kill people, instead taking the sneaky route, something a lot of action games never focus on. This is also what made the original Metal Gear on MSX groundbreaking. And no, I am not counting the lackluster NES "ports". And I type "ports" in quotation marks because they aren't true Metal Gear games in my honest opinion.

Especially a thread that was as shamefully lame to start with.
