Is it possible to turn off the music in a game but keep the sound effects active? I am running v1.42.

Someone asked about this before and the answer is the same as back then:

No, you can't unless there is an option to turn off the music in the game itself.

I didn't see it as a possible ROM Request, but, whatever.

Since music and sound effects are often on separate sound channels, yeah, you can. Try experimenting by pressing the number keys to toggle the different channels on and off.
