ZSNES has issues with PAL timings along side the C4.
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

Use the NTSC version for the time being. The PAL version has some whacky timing which I am currently working out. ZSNES's PAL timing is currently based off the NTSC timer which works for most games but will have problems with games like this that are picky. We are working towards fixing this but it will take time.

PAL timing:

525->625 scanlines/frame
(262 / non-interlace -> 312 / non-interlace)
(263, 262 / interlace even, odd -> 313, 312 / interlace even, odd)

Same cycles per scanline (I guess) at 1364 (sans 40 for DRAM refresh).

NTSC timing crystal: ~21477272hz
PAL timing crystal: ~21281370hz

That's about all I know about PAL, without having a PAL console to test the dots better. Seems to work fine for every PAL game I have, though.

Yes there is.

I own such a ROM.

I won't give it to you.

Search Google, or something.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

Is there even a reason to use an E rom when a US one exists? I know that pal has higher resolution in dvds and stuff but... I think for the snes you just lose 10fps.

Not really; not a good one anyway. Still, the PAL timing issues should be fixed.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

I highly, highly doubt that you'll notice any significant difference between them.. And there are plenty of people on this board who will gladly tell you how much they hate PAL, too. So I would suggest you just go with the (U) ROM for now.

The fix is in SVN. MMX2 and MMX3 PAL (E) versions should now be fixed. Thanks to Jonas Quinn for making it happen. However MMX2 doesn't work apparently due to other critical changes.... which will be resolved at some point.
