Yes, I want it. I don't think I'll be able to get until I live in a more densely populated area.

No jealousy here. I've had fios for over a year now. 8) I suppose that's probably the only advantage to living in the most densely populated state in the nation.

You know, you have all that speed with fios, but usually, I'm limited to the other end. It's not too often that I connect to servers that can let me take full advantage of my speed. Torrents can though, which is a definite perk. Even if a single torrent doesn't, I can download more simultaneous torrents!

I also pay only $29.99/month for mine. I had DSL, they did a door to door promotion, and I told them I wasn't upgrading anything for any additional money. They said OK and I've been paying that ever since. I had to complain again this year with my contract renewal, but I still got the same deal.

As far as I know I haven't lost connection more than one time in the past year. Service has been great. Verizon on the business end of things are a bunch of monkeys and I hate dealing with them, but the delivered service has been good.

Man I fucking Love Comcast! Bet you wish your downstream was this awesome Phonymary. It would also seem that I am seeding some torrents.

yes, ever since I heard of Nightcrawler's who showed me I have been covetous,

I will be of anything fiber optics, it is the awesomeness. They're selling Wii's with fiber optics installations in japan, it's just not fair how accessible it is over there.

I'm not enough of a power user atm for this to matter. It's fine for what I need.

Well at least your connections have somewhat reasonable upload speeds. I only get 0.5Mbps upload speed.

Edit: Here is the speed test...
Image
It was a perfectly constant 7Mbps for years and now it's sporadic dogshit ranging from 6.7-7 (doesn't sound like much of a difference but when it's going up and down rapidly and repeatedly it becomes annoying) and the asshole company just says it's within normal range and to fuck off. Why the hell don't they have any decent ISPs in this damn province -_-

Could you guys mention how much you're being charged for your connections? For this trash (which for my specific area is the best being offered) I end up paying about $51 month after robbery (taxes).

My results aren't so bad I guess. I was kind of surprised at the download speed, but hey, it's AT&T/SBC Internet.

I'm pretty happy with my cable internet. If something better came along that was cheaper I'd probably switch.

I pay a lil under $40 a month , and I'd get discounts if I added other services , but since I wouldnt use the other services... itd be a waste

Mexico isn't the best place for cheap Internet speeds, much less Veracruz. I pay like almost $30 USD for that.

not to derail this lovely pissing contest, but is verizon the only public fiber optics internet provider in the United States, and does anyone know what areas of the country they are currently supporting.

Yes pretty much, and it's limited right now though they're rolling it out as fast as they can. Here's a map:
