2x xbox controler issues

I have 2 xbox controlers hooked up to a windows box running zsnes. Unfortunately the buttons on one controler also do the same thing for the other. This only occures in zsnes. I know this due that the gamepad options in the control panel only react to one controler not both. Any ideas on how to seperate the two in zsnes? Thanks.

If Windows cannot differentiate between controllers, then neither can zsnes.

If the pads were not "separated" both pads would do the same thing.

Obviously this is not the case from what you're describing. The second pad seems to be not detected. Check your joystick status in the control panel.

they are both being picked up and listed seperately in the device manager. They are also listed seperately in the game controlers settings in the control panel.

in zsnes, go to the config input, and for button A press the A button on one pad and for button B press the A button on the other pad. what codes are entered for each button?

also, since you haven't specified, what versions of Windows and zsnes?

Win 7 Home Premium x64 with 3 XBOX controllers (2 wired, 1 wireless) , zsnes 1.51, and no config trouble here.

Shit. I can't believe I forgot to post that. X360 Controllers. 2 OEM 1 Madcatz.

Edit: Also relevant: Windows update updated drivers after a restart when I first plugged them in.
