There are several rom hacks that allows for using the controller instead of the mouse... you *might* be using that rom, but I'm not sure.

Try running it from the command-line (wine), and post the output .

For gaming?... Cedega. I don't know if it handles normal applications that rely on the Windows GUI will work with Cedega, though.

For normal applications that aren't super huge and complicated, I would go with Wine...

For example of Wine's power, it can run Firefox .
