Sound Problem!

Post by _An~Alien_ »

My sound is all messed up. When i first downloaded the rom, it was working fine, but i don't know what happened, it just got really messed up. It still plays the sound, but it makes loud noises and the sounds are weird.

Considered rebooting your computer? Also make sure any sound apps are closed (such as Winamp) and other unnecessary apps and maybe the Antivirus scanner if you are running one.

It also helps to mention what game you are experiencing the sound problems in... and all the other relevent info about your system (OS, port and version of ZSNES you are using).

I'm sure then, you or somebody else were in there messing with the sound settings like enabling "surround sound" and changing the sample rate from the default 32000, setting the interpolation to something other than gaussian, and turning on a low-pass filter instead of leaving it at none.

Could you remove one of the two images in your sig? Having one is more than enough.

Also, the strange sounds are most likely normal to Earthbound in the first place, like after buying eggs, which is what one person was reporting as a bug... even though it isn't.
