Super Castlevania IV Problem

Post by Crazyman101 »

Ok whenever Im playing Castlevania IV, whenever I see that map screen and it zooms in to see the castle or anything, the map screen randomly changes from normal to this:

It also happens when in stage 4, the second part of the game before the part where you have to keep moving on those flying bricks or you get crushed and die.
I haven't tried any other games yet but anyone else get this?
I tried to download a new ZSNES and replace it, but nothing works. I even tried downloading a different rom and still, nothing.
So any1 know how to fix it?

Are you using the DOS port and DOSBox? You need to use a 16-bit mode because that is most likely what you are seeing from using the 8-bit graphics engine.

You need to post more info about your problem... OS, Processor, video card.

You also need to list what ZSNES tells you in Misc->About.

I don't think Fraps can display the FPS in DOSBox - at least in WinXP.

It can if you change the output renderer to a supported one.

I tried them all (surface, overlay, opengl, openglnb, ddraw), and there were no numbers.

I'm quite sure it'd work with Direct3D.
