Is CuOnPa a BS game?

Post by SquareHead »

I remember seeing a thread a while back about CuOnPa being broken since a certain release of zsnes (I'll have to search that thread again, as I found that game quite entertaining). I was looking around and thought I saw that CuOnPa or "Endorfun" was a BS satlelite game?

Code: Select all

NSRT v3.3 RC2 - Nach's SNES ROM Tools

---------------------Internal ROM Info----------------------
       File: Cu-On-Pa.sfc
       Name: Cu-On-Pa SFC Company: T&ESoft
     Header: Exists (type?) Bank: LoROM
Interleaved: No SRAM: 64 Kb
Type: Normal + Batt ROM: 8 Mb
    Country: Japan Video: NTSC
ROM Speed: 120ns (FastROM) Revision: 1.0
   Checksum: Good 0x4C0B CRC32: 42D0C418

Port 1: Gamepad Port 2: Gamepad

See the Type entry ? If it was a BS game it would be 'BS'. Hope that helped.
Now you know how to get info for your games, btw...

There's 2 versions. I can confirm.
The ROM cart version, the one Gideon translated, has been broke for... well, forever. It was made playable(but not perfect) immediatly after patch release with a hack that was stripped out of the next version.

The BS version has never run. It gripes about missing hte BS system, or something.

A hack eh? Explains why it can't run... sigh.

out of curiosity i tried those two roms. and both seem to run fine untill i get to the menu then no input seems to work. the regular has a bunch of score slots and the BS version has several options like practice.
its weird i can even watch the demo if i let the title screen sit long enough. looks like a crazy game

so does everyone else have that same problem that the game runs but wont go further than the menu or wont run at all?

The BS version works now?
Color me stupid.

But yah, that's the long-running issue. The menu system locks up the game.

Of course it is.

From UOSNES source:

Code: Select all

SNESGameFixes.PPU4212_Hack =strcmp (Memory.ROMName, "Cu-On-Pa SFC") == 0 ||
