I'm mostly asking this because I'm remixing some VGM right now, and I wonder if it's possible to record audio only in ZSNES?
Does anyone know?

I suppose your talking about BGM, in which case, yes. SPC format. Googling and reading the appropriate section in the ZSNES documentation helps. If this is not what you were looking for, reword your post.

A really weird way would be to make a zmv and then dump its audio...
